Fariba Davody

Vocalist

Born in Tehran, Iran and currently living in Toronto, Canada, Fariba Davody studied Persian traditional music (traditional classical repertoire) in Tehran under the supervision of Iranian masters in the field. She is the founder of Mehr Music Group and Music Institute of Avaye Mehr as well as the coordinator of Women’s Music Festival. As a vocalist, she has performed in several international music festivals. She recently collaborated with Dastan Ensemble and also teaches Persian Singing (Radif). Fariba specializes in vocal cultural ethnic Iranian music. She started her career through many years of training under a well known Iranian master of traditional music. She had not only performed many concerts in North America , but also in Europe. She is the sole Iranian female artist to have recorded Iranian musical vocal cords at “the university of st. Andrews”. This is to be released to the public shortly. Last but not least she has conquered and achieved the Queen Elizabeth ll Jubilee medal.
