Kiosk is known for its satirical lyrics, which provide a socio-political commentary of life in Iran, as well as its blend of several music styles, from Iranian folk to gypsy jazz to rock. From Lust to Loyalty
Writer and actor Banafsheh Taherian began to publish the podcast “Chai ba Banafsheh” at the dawn of the 2020 Pandemic. The objective was simple: transform historic Persian poetry from its complex language conventions to modern Farsi. In the podcast’s first season, Banafsheh told the story of Nezami’s “Khosrow and Shirin” in a new light with real-world connections, dashes of humour, and unrelenting loyalty to the storyline without any censorship whatsoever. Now, for the first time, we bear witness to innovations in the realm of Persian literature and theatrical writing. A poem consisting of 6500 stanzas is reborn into a modern romantic comedy that honours the original plotline and enhances it through music, soliloquies, art, and sound. All elements are entwined with the acknowledgment that as the singular thespian goes on stage, no truth shall be omitted.

“از هوسنامه تا وفانامه “
بنفشه طاهريان (نويسنده و بازيگر) در سال ٢٠٢٠ با آغاز دوران همه گیری کرونا و قرنطینه، پادكست “چاى با بنفشه” را با اين هدف كه داستانهاى كهن ايرانى را از زبان شعر به زبان ساده روزمره تبديل و تعريف كند راه اندازى كرد. او در فصل اول پادكست داستان “خسرو و شيرين” نظامى را وفادار به متن اصلى با جزییات و توضيحات، بدون سانسور و با اضافه كردن چاشنى طنز و معادل سازى وقايع داستان با اتفاقات دنياى مدرن، به زبان ساده نوشته و تعریف كرد.
اجراى نمايش “از هوسنامه تا وفانامه” يك اتفاق مهم و نو در زمينه ادبيات داستانى و نمايشى ايران است. اين اولين بار در تاريخ ايران است كه منظومه ٦٥٠٠ بيتى “خسرو و شيرين” وفادار به متن، بصورت كامل و بدون حذف و سانسور به سبك كمدى رمانتيك مدرن با يك بازيگر و تلفيقى از شعر و زبان محاوره با همراهى موسيقى و صدا و نقاشى روى صحنه ميرود.
